Who We Are

Who knows it, feels it

This proverb reflects our deep roots in the forest-edge communities surrounding the Greater Loma Landscape. For over 50 years, our people have lived with the challenges of poverty, environmental degradation, and the misuse of Loma Mountain. We know these struggles firsthand — and we feel them deeply.

LCCPSL is a local nonprofit, community-based organization established in direct response to these realities. We are committed to turning challenges into opportunities by protecting Loma Mountain’s natural heritage, empowering communities, and promoting sustainable development.

We believe that through collective action, resource mobilization, and community empowerment, Loma Mountain can be transformed into a hub of resilience — attracting tourism, private sector investment, and climate sustainability projects that benefit both people and nature

Leadership & Governance

What makes us different from other environmental conservation organizations in Sierra Leone

We are proudly rooted in the communities we serve. The founding members of LCCPSL are native sons and daughters of the three Chiefdoms surrounding the Greater Loma Landscape. This deep connection ensures that our work reflects the lived experiences, traditions, and aspirations of the people who call Loma Mountain home.

Our Board of Trustees is composed of local authorities, including the Paramount Chiefs — the custodians of the land — who provide wisdom, guidance, and cultural legitimacy to our mission.

Beyond our local leadership, we are supported by a diverse team of advisors with extensive experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors. Together, they bring expertise in sustainable development, environmental conservation, and community empowerment.

At the heart of LCCPSL is a leadership team that has consistently been at the forefront of designing and implementing impactful development projects. Their vision and dedication drive our commitment to protecting the Greater Loma Landscape while enhancing the lives of the communities who depend on it.
